Fishing

Fishing is available within thirty seconds walk from the front door! We can also arrange permits to fish for trout further upstream on the Whiteadder: one can walk ten minutes upstream to the salmon caul and fish down the River through beautiful countryside before arriving back at Canty’s in time to enjoy the tranquillity of an evening sitting watching the river flow past. Alternatively, we can arrange salmon fishing at Hutton Mill further up the Whiteadder or advise guests on fishing on the Tweed for either salmon or trout. The Tweed flows five minutes drive downstream of Canty’s Brig, and good fishing can be had within fifteen minutes drive. There is also excellent trout fishing at the two stocked lochs in Coldingham, and tickets can be organised in advance of your holiday.
